A spokeswoman for the force said: "North Wales Police are investigating allegations that the deceased was verbally abused by a 43-year-old Wrexham man prior to his collapsing.
"This seems to have been over a perception of queue-jumping at the petrol station."
Police have appealed for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
