She was awarded the Urdd Eisteddfod Crown in Mold in 1984 for a short novel, and the Literature Medal of the Bro Colwyn National Eisteddfod in 1995, for her volume Y Dylluan Wen, 'The White Owl', which was later adapted for television.
She had been a contributor to the Talwrn y Beirdd poetry competition series, and also wrote material for the singer Sian James.
