Corporal dies in Cyprus collision

A 37-year-old RAF corporal from Denbighshire has died in a road collision in Cyprus.

David Jones, of Engineering Support Squadron, died near Paphos on Sunday. The RAF said a 77-year-old Cypriot man was arrested after a drink-drive test.

Cpl Jones was based at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus.

His family said: "We are all deeply saddened and stunned at the tragic loss in Cyprus of David, a much-loved son, father, brother and uncle."

In a statement, they added: "We would appreciate respect of our privacy at this sad time."
