'Car death' accused due in court Man in court over car theft death

A man accused of murdering a woman who was struck as she tried to stop her car being driven from outside her home, is due in court later. A man has appeared in court accused of murdering a woman by mowing her down with her own car in Greater Manchester.
Lynda Hankey, 42, was hit by the vehicle, a yellow MG sports car, in Worsley Mesnes, Wigan, Greater Manchester, on Thursday. Lynda Hankey, 42, suffered fatal head injuries as she tried to stop a thief from stealing her MG sports car parked outside her Wigan home on Thursday.
Shaun David James Higgins, 23, from Church Street, Leigh, is also accused of the aggravated vehicle taking. Shaun Higgins, 23, of Church Street, Leigh, near Wigan, appeared before the town's magistrates charged with murder and aggravated vehicle taking.
He is due to appear before magistrates in Wigan later. He did not enter a plea and has been remanded until 9 February.
