A man has died following a fire at a flat in Glasgow in the early hours of the morning. A 50-year-old man has died following a fire at a flat in Glasgow in the early hours of the morning.
A spokeswoman for Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze broke out at the building in Whitefield Road, Govan, at 0155 GMT. Emergency services were called to the property in Whitefield Road, Govan, at about 0155 GMT on Tuesday.
Three fire appliances were sent to the first-floor property. The man died a short time later in the city's Southern General Hospital. Four people from neighbouring flats were treated for smoke inhalation.
There are no other details available, however it is understood the man who died was in his 50s. Strathclyde Fire and Rescue said there did not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the blaze.
