The woman from Tregaron, Ceredigion, was reported as missing on Monday night and, following a major search, a body has been recovered near a river bank. Police said a body found in Mountain Ash, Cynon Valley, at the weekend was that of Michael Davies, 15. He had been missing since Thursday. Neither incident was being treated as suspicious, said officers. Dyfed-Powys Police said "extensive searches" took place through the night in Tregaron involving police, Brecon Mountain Rescue and the Environment Agency. Searches, involving helicopter support, continued into Tuesday morning, and the body of a female was recovered near the river bank in Tregaron. In a separate incident, the body of Michael Davies was found in the Llanwonno Road area of Mountain Ash on Saturday. He went missing at around 2300 GMT on Thursday and police said he was not wearing any shoes at the time of his disappearance. Searches by mountain rescue teams and the fire service were carried out using thermal imaging. South Wales Police said in a statement: "There appears to be no suspicious circumstances at this stage. Next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with Michael's family and friends." |
