Inquiry after 13-year-old raped

Gardai have begun an investigation following the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl in County Donegal.

It happened in Donegal town on Sunday night. A man has been arrested and is being questioned by detectives in connection with the incident.

He is being held at Ballyshannon Garda Station under Section Four of the Criminal Justice Act.

Police have until midnight to continue to question the suspect.
