Tributes paid to collision victim

The family of Cardiff teenager, Christopher Sharp, have paid tribute to a "wonderful and caring son" after he died after a collision with a car.

The 15-year-old and a dark-coloured Rover 25 collided during the evening rush hour on Monday on one of the city's main roads.

The year 10 pupil at Whitchurch High School sustained fatal injuries in the incident.

South Wales Police say inquiries are continuing into the death.

A female driver who stopped at the scene of the collision has been spoken to, and police have renewed their appeal to witnesses.

The incident happened at the junction of Manor Way and Cae Gwyn Road in Whitchurch at 1710 GMT on Monday.

Paying tribute, Chris' parents said: "Chris was a wonderful and caring son. He had a big personality and was an extremely popular and caring young man.

"He was a keen and talented musician and particularly enjoyed playing the guitar.

"Academically Chris was excelling at school, in particular at maths, science and IT.

"Chris brought great joy into our lives and we will cherish the time we had together."
