Mr Shaw and his wife, Lyndsey, were being comforted by relatives at their home. Mr Shaw, 52, and his wife, Lyndsey, 34, released the statement: "Our little princess Ellie was the most beautiful happy, little girl and the world is now a much poorer place.
"She will be sorely missed by all her friends and family who loved her dearly."
The couple praised medical staff that tried to save their daughter and asked that anyone wishing to make donations send them cheques payable to the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.
