A Gloucestershire family has managed to fill only one dustbin with waste over an entire year.

Richard and Rachelle Strauss, from Longhope in the Forest of Dean, have recycled all their waste - apart from one bin collected on Wednesday.

The couple started their attempt a year ago as the county council tried to reduce landfill.

Mrs Strauss said: "We do celebrate but there's still a dark lining that we've put something in landfill."

The family's objective for next year is to have zero landfill waste.
