Temporary heads The <a class="inlineText" href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/">Daily Telegraph reports on the development of a new emergency contraceptive pill</a> which can be taken almost a week after sexual intercourse. The paper says there are fears the new drug, currently only available on prescription, may promote promiscuity. A survey has revealed that scores of posts are being filled by temporary and acting heads, it reports. The Times reports on the misconduct verdicts against the doctor who sparked a global panic over the MMR vaccine. The <a class="inlineText" href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2010/jan/28/jd-salinger-dies-catcher-rye">Guardian describes him as a "symbol of the cultural refusenik</a> in an age of non privacy" and says he was "famous for not wanting to be famous". The front page of the <a class="inlineText" href="http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/news/salinger-caught-the-attention-of-the-world-ndash-then-hid-from-it-1882551.html">Independent is given over to a picture of Salinger as a young man.</a> It says he "became the voice of adolescent angst".
