Two killed in three-car collision Mother and daughter die in crash

Two people have died in a three-car collision in Northumberland. A woman and her teenage daughter have been killed in a head-on crash on a road in Northumbria.
It happened on Sunday afternoon at Military Road, Chollerford in Hexham, police said. They were the occupants of a Vauxhall Astra which was involved in a collision with a Jaguar on the B6138 Military Road near Chollerford.
A Vauxhall Astra, Jaguar and Volkswagen Golf were involved. The two occupants of the Astra were pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not yet released full details of the identity of the pair, aged 46 and 16, from the Hexham area.
The police, fire and ambulance attended and part of Military Road was closed while an investigation took place and the vehicles were recovered. Any witnesses to the incident at about 1300 GMT on Sunday are asked to contact Northumbria Police.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
