A woman suffering from serious head injuries has been discovered on a road near Dungannon in County Tyrone. A woman found with serious head injuries on a road near Dungannon in County Tyrone has died in hospital.
The woman, aged in her late 40s/early 50s, was found at the Killyman Road in the early hours of Monday morning. Dalia Peleckiene, 51, was originally from Lithuania and lived in Dungannon.
She was taken to Craigavon Hospital where her condition is critical. Police are investigating how she was injured. She was found at the Killyman Road near the entrance of Orpheus Drive at about 0545 GMT on Monday.
The area between Killymeal Road and Bush Road has been closed. Police have appealed to anyone who might have seen anything to come forward. Police are still investigating what caused her injuries, and have appealed for anyone who might have seen anything to contact them. A post mortem examination is to be carried out.
