Marshall's girlfriend Sarah Bush was jailed for three years and nine months for perverting the course of justice. St Albans Crown Court heard Marshall, who had links to London's Adams crime family, cut up bodies in the 1990s.
Marshall, who had originally denied murder, changed his plea at the end of the third week of his trial. Shortly before he was sentenced, his barrister Peter Doyle QC said Marshall had explained to him how he dismembered the bodies of four unidentified men who had been killed earlier.

He was murdered on 8 or 9 March in his flat in Southgate, north London, the jury was told. Mr Doyle said he was told the bodies were buried in Epping Forest near London and Marshall thought it "sensible" not to ask questions.
Hertfordshire Police said it was likely detectives would visit Marshall in prison to question him about his claims.
Earlier, the court heard how when Mr Howe's body parts were found, the flesh on his scalp and face had been removed and his ears and tongue cut away. His hands have never been found.

He added: "Both defendants saw Mr Howe's vulnerability and subsequent murder as an opportunity to seize his home, his possessions and his identity.
"All this was carried out with unfaltering nerve and by Marshall in particular, with a disturbing level of expertise.
"He showed a frightening disregard for human life in his willingness to kill in return for a relatively small sum of money."
Mr Howe's family said in a statement they would remember him for his "larger than life personality and generosity".
