Police probing fatal dog attack Outcry over baby killed by dogs
(about 1 hour later)
Police are investigating how two Rottweiler dogs managed to attack and kill a five-month-old baby in the living quarters of a pub. Neighbours and residents have been laying flowers outside a pub in Leicester after a five-month-old baby was killed by two Rottweiler dogs.
The guard dogs, described by one neighbour as "vicious", were put down following the attack on Saturday in the Rocket pub, Leicester. The girl, named by neighbours as Caydee-Lee, was attacked by the dogs at the Rocket pub in the New Parks area.
Flowers and other tributes have been left outside the pub by locals. Police have started an investigation into how the animals managed to kill the baby in the pub's living quarters.
The attack comes weeks after a boy aged four in Cambridgeshire had 200 stitches after being attacked by a bulldog. The two Rottweilers who lived at the pub and known by neighbours as Bess and Bruno, were put down after the attack
One neighbour, Rose Duke, said: "Those dogs were terrible. If I passed, they would come charging across the roof.
"They frightened the life out of anyone who passed the pub. I would not have trusted them as far as I could throw them. People are in shock."
The girl was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary on Saturday afternoon where she later died from her injuries following the attack in Stephenson Drive, New Parks. The girl was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary on Saturday afternoon where she later died from her injuries following the attack in Stephenson Drive, New Parks.

Ms Grimbley's father, James, said: "Our hearts go out to the parents of that poor baby. Everybody is so shocked at what has happened."
