Police and fire officers have launched an investigation after 60 homes were evacuated following a fire at a derelict south Wales valleys school. | |
People living next to the old Blaencaerau school in Maesteg were told to leave as a precaution on Monday night. | |
But they were allowed to return two hours later. | |
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to the blaze shortly before 2200 GMT. | |
Det Sgt Paul Mason of Bridgend CID said: "We are currently working with the fire service to establish the cause of the fire." | |
