Gunman in cash in transit robbery

A cash in transit driver has been robbed in west Belfast, the police have said.

The driver was making a delivery to an off-licence on Suffolk Road shortly after 0900 GMT when he was approached by a man armed with a handgun.

He threatened the driver before making off on foot with the cash box which contained a substantial sum of money.

The robber was wearing a high visibility vest and police said he may have been posing as a litter warden.
