Sheep costume man 'set on fire'

The 19-year-old victim spent nearly a month in hospital after his costume caught fire at the Headingley Taps pub in Leeds, West Yorkshire, in October. Jason Whatley, 38, of Faroes Close in Fareham, Hampshire, is charged with arson reckless as to whether life was endangered. He was bailed by Leeds magistrates to appear at Leeds Crown Court on Tuesday. Two other people in similar costumes also caught fire when the flames spread, the court was told. Mr Whatley also faces two charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in connection with the two other victims. |
