Body of missing woman, 46, found

The body of a woman reported missing shortly after new year has been found near her home in Nottinghamshire, police confirmed.

Vera Martin, 46, from Meden Vale, Mansfield, had not been seen since 2 January, when a sighting was reported in the grounds of a nearby school.

Police said a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.

But detectives confirmed Ms Martin's death is not currently being treated as suspicious.
