Crash death toddler's mother dies

The mother of an 18-month-old toddler who was killed when a car mounted a pavement and crashed into them has died in hospital, Lancashire Police said. Jackie Bloomer, 30, and her son Jayden were hit by a green Rover car after it mounted the pavement on Water Street in Accrington, on Tuesday. The driver, 89-year-old Ernest Wray, and the toddler died in the crash. Nursery nurse Mrs Bloomer had been walking with Jayden to pick up her five-year-old son from school. Post-mortem examination results on Mr Wray have not been released by police. |
