Men attacked after road accident

Two men have been assaulted after a pedestrian was knocked down in north Belfast.

The police say the pair, who are aged 21 and 25, were in a car which struck a man in the Ainsworth Avenue area at about 0230 GMT on Saturday.

The men were set upon by a crowd when they got out of the car. They were taken to hospital, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The police are trying to trace the man who was knocked down.
