Man bailed after woman, 80, raped

A man arrested after an 80-year-old woman was raped at her home in West Yorkshire has been released on bail.

Police were called to the property in the Halifax area, where the elderly woman lived alone, on Thursday evening.

The 39-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of rape later on Thursday night. He was released on bail on Friday pending further inquiries.

Officers said the woman had been left "very shaken" following the sex attack. Inquiries were continuing.
