A 31-year-old man who was questioned in connection with the murder of pensioner Charles Stead in Dundonald has been released without charge.

Mr Steed, 92, was found at his home in Canberra Park on 26 February. Police said he had been beaten to death.

A murder inquiry was launched after a post-mortem examination concluded the head injuries caused Mr Stead's death.

The Royal Navy veteran had lived in the bungalow since the 1960s, and neighbours were shocked at his murder.
