The party got into trouble on St Sunday Crag in Patterdale in Penrith. The party from County Durham were walking St Sunday Crag in Patterdale near Penrith.
Two of the group were taken to hospital. One is believed to have suffered head and leg injuries, and the other chest injuries. Three people have been found and taken to hospital. One is believed to have suffered serious head and leg injuries. Another has chest injuries.
A third walker is with mountain rescue teams at the scene, and the fourth is yet to be recovered, but police have made contact over the telephone. The fourth is yet to be recovered, but police say it is believed the last walker is the least injured.
