Version 0 of 1.

Batches of Loyd Grossman sauces are being recalled over fears that they may contain pieces of glass.

The food alert affects batch codes 9316 and 9317 of the chef's tomato and chilli pasta sauce jars.

A statement on Mr Grossman's website said a small number of the jars "may contain pieces of glass, and are being recalled as a precautionary measure".

Premier Foods, the company which makes the sauces, said that no other products were affected.

A Premier Foods spokesman said: "Issues of this type are very rare. We acted immediately once we became aware of this risk.

"We apologise for any inconvenience this might have caused. No other Loyd Grossman Sauces, jar sizes or products are affected."

Jars can be returned to Premier Foods and anyone concerned about the recall can contact Premier Foods on 0800 085 3959.

In a separate food alert, Pro-Pak Foods has recalled some of its sliced chicken roll products, because they are contaminated with listeria which may cause food poisoning, according to the FSA.

The products affected are Country Store Chicken Roll and Netto Chicken Roll. No other Pro-Pak Foods products are known to be affected.
