Jones, who was controversially voted off the ITV1 show, joins Coronation Street's Kym Marsh, singer Sonique and actress Caroline Quentin among others. They are re-recording Cyndi Lauper's track Girls Just Wanna Have Fun to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Jones, from Pentyrch near Cardiff, has signed to a modelling agency since being voted off X Factor. Former Atomic Kitten Liz McClarnon, glamour model Danielle Lloyd, former EastEnders actress Lucy Benjamin and former Mis-Teeq star Su-Elise Nash are also singing on the track. They will join former T'Pau singer Carol Decker, GMTV presenter Penny Smith and the Cheeky Girls to mark the start of the fundraising Race for Life event. DJ and singer Sonique is fronting the single, who is performing for the first time since her breast cancer diagnosis last June. Kym Marsh was a singer with Hear'Say before joining the Coronation Street cast The single, originally a hit for Lauper in 1984, also features a number of women who have been affected by cancer and will be released on 26 April. Jones said: "I was so excited when I was asked as it is [a cause] very close to my heart." She said she was particularly delighted when she found out Kym Marsh was also taking part as she said she was a "huge role model." "She's just such a fantastic singer and has had such a good career," she added. "When it is released I'm really going to push it - hopefully it will raise a lot of money. "It's also about raising awareness of the Race for Life - it's such a fun thing to do - it's just for women and you can just walk it if you want. I'm definitely doing it this year." In November, Jones was voted off X Factor in favour of twins John and Edward Grimes after a controversial decision by judge Simon Cowell. She has since signed for model agency Select Model Management which helped launch the careers of models such as Agyness Deyn and Stella Tennant.
