Murder inquiry into girl's death Girl found dead near King's Cross

Police have started a murder investigation after the body of a teenage girl was discovered beside a block of flats in north London. The body of a 16-year-old girl has been discovered near a block of flats in north London.
The 16-year-old was discovered in a yard near Outram Place, just north of King's Cross railway station. Jessie Wright's body was found near a yard in Outram Place, just north of King's Cross railway station. The teenager lived on the Bemerton Estate.
Her body was found by local authority workmen on Thursday afternoon. Workmen from the local authority found her body on Thursday afternoon in an alleyway which backs on to the yard. Flowers have been left at the scene.
A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident, Metropolitan Police said. A post-mortem examination is due to take place later. A 19-year-old man arrested over the death remains in police custody.
The Metropolitan Police (Met) said officers were not clear about the circumstances of her death, but one line of inquiry was whether she fell from the block of flats.
At a flat in Kinross House, where Jessie lived, her grandfather said the family were in shock.
'Gorgeous' girl
One tribute read: "To my cousin Jessie, I will miss you lots and lots. You will always be my baby's auntie. I love you lots Jessie.
"I have never missed you so much. I hope you are in a better place, love Jack."

Another said: "Jess, I love you so much. Gorgeous you are."
One teenage girl, who said Jessie was a former pupil at Maria Fidelis Catholic school for girls, said: "She was beautiful, she was a very kind and outspoken person, a bubbly girl.
"She had a heart of gold and was always happy. She would have put up a fight - I cannot believe we are talking about this. I have known her since we were about 12."
The Met said Jessie was last seen on Wednesday afternoon and police wanted to trace her movements in the 24 hours before she died.
A Met spokeswoman said: "The body was discovered by workmen who were in an area which backs on to the yard where Jessie was discovered."
"It is not known how long her body was lying in the yard."
A post-mortem examination is due to take place.
