The last confirmed sighting of the mother-of-three was with a man in Marketgait East, near to its junction with King Street, at about 0300 GMT.

Det Ch Insp McKillop said on Wednesday: "We have two family liaison officers who are working closely with Mary McLaren's family, and the indications at this time are that it may be Mary. Det Ch Insp Shaun McKillop, who is leading the inquiry, said his priority was to establish a cause of death.
"Clearly this is an early stage of the inquiry - there is a lot of forensic work to be done and I would urge the patience of the Dundee public." "A detailed and meticulous search of the area where the body has been found will be carried out," he said.
