Man shot during robbery attempt

A man has been shot in both legs during an attempted robbery in south Armagh.

Shortly before 2100 GMT on Saturday, two masked and armed men entered a house in the Gullion View area of Meigh.

They demanded money from the man before shooting him twice in the legs. The men left empty-handed and are believed to have made off in a vehicle.

The injured man was taken to Daisy Hill hospital in Newry where he is said to be in a stable condition.
