|Jordan gunman fires on tourists |
(20 minutes later)
A gunman has opened fire on foreign tourists in the centre of the Jordanian capital, Amman, reports say.
Security sources quoted by the AFP news agency say a lone attacker shot at tourists near the Roman amphitheatre in central Amman.
Reports say that the gunman wounded five people, four tourists and a policeman, before he was overcome and detained by security forces.
The nationality of the tourists caught up in the incident is not yet known.
Sixty people were killed in a series of suicide attacks on hotels in the Jordanian capital in November 2005.
