They said they recovered belongings stolen from the Saeed family home along with weapons and explosives. They said none of Saheed's family were involved in the kidnapping and it was a "random" attack carried out by a gang.
Police said the arrested men were wanted in connection with the murders of up to 22 people. Meanwhile, Saheed's mother said he hoped return to school next week but he had not said much about his kidnapping.
Akila Naqqash added she did not know many of the details of the arrests but said if the "right people" had been arrested then hopefully justice "will come to them".
She also said she would never go back to Pakistan following her son's experience.

The police chief called Sahil's father during the press conference who said he was happy and thankful. He added that the arrests would be a relief to people in the area as well as to Sahil's family as it sounded like the gang had been responsible for very serious crimes in the area for quite some time.
Sahil's great uncle Matlub Ahmed told the BBC the family in Oldham were aware of the arrests and were "very happy".
