Over the weekend a 4x4 driver reported being blown off the road near Huntly in Aberdeenshire.
The A86 in the Highlands was heavily snowbound, with vehicles sliding off the road, while a number of cars had to be abandoned in snow on the A87 road to Kyle of Lochalsh.
There were no injuries and the occupants of the vehicles were all traced.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency warned of "exceptionally" high tides causing flooding and tidal surges over the next week.
A spokesman for Bear Scotland, which maintains trunk roads, said: "We are aware of the weather pattern and are monitoring the situation.
"We will be pre-gritting at the appropriate times, and have teams ready on a 24/7 basis."
