Security alert at Maghaberry jail

A security alert at Maghaberry Prison is under way after dissident republican inmates barricaded themselves into a dining room.

A suspicious object was thrown from the room, where up to 30 prisoners gathered on Sunday morning after attending Mass.

Visits at the high-security prison have been suspended.

An Army bomb team was sent to the prison to examine the object, which was found in a corridor outside the dining room.
