Man charged with Belfast murder Teen in court over man's murder

An 18-year-old man has been charged with the murder of west Belfast man Seamus Fox. A teenager has appeared in court charged with the murder of a west Belfast father of eight.
The 58-year-old was found with serious head injuries on waste ground behind Woodbourne police station on Thursday morning and died shortly afterwards. Two 18-year-old men were arrested in connection with the grandfather's death. One of them was released without charge on Friday. Gerard Connor, 18, from Glenveagh Drive in west Belfast appeared in Belfast Magistrates Court on Saturday.
The man who was charged is due to appear at court in Belfast on Saturday. His family wept in court as the charge was read. His solicitor said he strenuously denied it.
A vigil was held in memory of Mr Fox on Friday evening. The court was told that Mr Connor gave himself up to police in Antrim shortly after the killing.
In court on Saturday, a detective said he could connect the teenager with the charge.
The incident happened close to the police station but the detective said that no CCTV evidence had been put to the accused during initial questioning.
Mr Connor was remanded in custody until 18 May.
