An inquiry is under way into claims that property belonging to soldiers was stolen from a military barracks while they were serving in Afghanistan. The investigation centres on Edinburgh's Redford Infantry Barracks, home to troops from 3 Rifles battalion and the Scots Borderers. It is alleged the items went missing from sealed boxes inside the barracks while troops were on a tour of duty. The Ministry of Defence confirmed its police force was investigating. A spokesman said: "Ministry of Defence police are conducting an investigation into alleged stolen property at Redford Infantry Barracks, the base of 3 Rifles battalion. "It would be inappropriate to comment further until the investigations are complete." |
