Missing diver search called off

A search for a diver missing off the south Devon coast has been called off.

Brixham Coastguard said the alarm was raised by a Plymouth dive boat just before noon.

The experienced diver, who is believed to be a 55-year-old man, was one of a team diving off Salcombe on the wreck of The Maine.

A helicopter from RNAS Culdrose, fishing vessels, coastguards and lifeboats were involved in the search but found no sign of the man.
