Oscar-winning director Oliver Stone has teamed up with writer Bruce Wagner to produce a TV series based on Wagner's novel, Still Holding.

The project is part of a development deal with US premium TV service Epix. The pair previously worked together on the 1990s TV series Wild Palms.

"I'm interested in the possibilities of television," Stone said.

It is not yet known when the series will air. Still Holding is about three disparate people based in Los Angeles.

Stone's 10-part documentary mini-series, The Secret History of America, will air sometime this year on the Showtime channel.

His Wall Street sequel will premiere later this month at the Cannes film festival.

Money Never Sleeps sees Michael Douglas reprise his Oscar-winning role as ruthless stockbroker Gordon Gekko.

Stone's film picks up 23 years after his first one left off and sees Gekko, who has just been released from prison, try to warn Wall Street of the impending financial collapse.
