It's front page headline is "Squatter holed up in No 10" over a picture of Prime Minister Gordon Brown. "Man, 59 refuses to leave house in Downing Street" is the paper's take on Mr Brown's decision to use his constitutional right to stay on as PM.

  1. 2145: We've already mentioned here some confusion in the US over how a British election can result in two parties attempting to form the next government, but the White House has adopted a more pragmatic watch-and-wait approach. Asked for the Obama administration's reaction, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told the BBC it was "obviously a bit fascinating to watch". Unsurprisingly, the president has no plans to call any of the party leaders until the dust has settled.
