Crew on board the Dash4 Flybe aeroplane contacted the control tower requesting a flypast to inspect the wheels. Crew on board the Flybe plane were unsure whether the landing gear had been deployed or not.
Once observers on the ground confirmed the wheels had been deployed, the plane was allowed to land at about 0940 BST. A faulty indicator light is believed to have caused the confusion.
