Version 0 of 1.

Russian billionaire, Boris Berezovsky, who lives in exile in Britain, has been questioned about the death of ex-spy Alexander Litvinenko.

He was questioned by British police in the presence of Russian police.

Mr Litvinenko, a critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, died in November in London after being poisoned by radioactive substance polonium-210.

Mr Berezovsky said he agreed to be questioned, but insisted on security precautions for his own safety.

Before his death, Mr Litvinenko, 43, and his associates accused Russia of carrying out the poisoning because of his fierce opposition the Russian security services and to Mr Putin, who has denied any involvement.

Mr Litvinenko, a former Federal Security Service (FSB) officer for Russia, was granted asylum in the UK in 2000.

At the end of last year, Scotland Yard officers travelled to Russia to question witnesses in the case surrounding the former spy's death.
