Appeal for stab victim's friend Arrest over bus stop stab death

The friend of a man stabbed to death as they waited for a night bus in east London has been urged to call police. Police investigating the death of a man stabbed at a bus stop in east London have arrested a man.
The victim, aged in his 20s, was attacked and killed as they waited for the number 369 in Chapel Road, Ilford, in the early hours of Saturday. The victim, 25, was attacked as he and a friend waited for a night bus in Chapel Road, Ilford, early on Saturday.
Police said a suspect, described as being black, also aged in his 20s, and tall and slim, ran off into Clements Road then into Winston Way. He was taken to King George Hospital but died from a single stab wound to the heart.
A number of people stood at the bus stop are also asked to come forward. A 19-year-old, arrested in the Ilford area, is being questioned at an east London police station. Police have urged witnesses to come forward.

He was taken to King George Hospital but died later. Post-mortem tests were due to be carried out on Saturday. Det Ch Insp John MacDonald said they had now spoken to the victim's friends but still wanted to hear from any other witnesses.
