Six men arrested in connection with an investigation into dissident republican activity in County Armagh have been released without charge.

They were arrested during an intelligence operation in Lurgan which began on Thursday night and ended on Saturday.

The railway line between Lurgan and Portadown was shut as army bomb experts searched the area.

Police were attacked with petrol bombs during searches in the town.

They began a security operation near the Kilwilkee estate.

Eyewitnesses said a large number of police officers in six cars were involved in the arrests.
