The mother of murdered schoolboy Adam Regis has described how his death has destroyed her life.

Adam, 15, from Plaistow, was stabbed to death in an "unprovoked" attack in Beckton, east London, last month.

In an interview for Crimewatch on BBC One, Kristina Caesar said her son would do anything for anyone and was always there to help her.

Adam's girlfriend also appeared in the televised appeal. Four men arrested over Adam's death are on bail.

Adam, who was the nephew of Olympic sprinter John Regis, was stabbed in the chest when he was attacked at the junction of Boundary Road and Kingsland Road in Plaistow on 17 March.

He was returning home after a trip to the Showcase Cinema in Beckton with a group of friends.

Lovely smile

Speaking about the loss of her son, Ms Caesar said: "My house is so quiet. It's so empty, so empty without him."

She added: "He was always the first kid in the school. A lot of the teachers were saying that when they got to school Adam was always the first kid there."

His girlfriend, Rachel Harman, 16, who also featured in the programme, said: "He was always there when I needed him.

"He had a lovely smile, that's one thing that I remember, and a great personality, and he was always there to cheer you up."
