Work on a coastal protection scheme, which is expected to cost £1m, is due to start this week.

The project aims to stop more of a former shoreline landfill site at Buckhaven in Fife from slipping into the Firth of Forth.

Tonnes of material from a quarry at Stirling will be transported to the site for the development.

Officials are warning local people that the boulders will be delivered by lorry from Stirling over a six-week period.

It had initially been planned to get most of the rocks from Inverkeithing, 20 miles away, and ship them to Buckhaven by barge.
