He said: "One of the youths exposed himself to her and attempted to perform an indecent act on her, and thereafter threatened to perform an indecent act on her baby.
"It was a very terrifying ordeal. The woman picked the baby out of the pram, leaving behind her headscarf and the pram."
Officers believed that other members of the group may be disgusted with the sexual element of the attack on the woman and her baby.
