The M5 near Bristol has been closed northbound, and traffic travelling south restricted to the hard shoulder, after a lorry jack-knifed. Police have arrested a lorry driver following a collision on the M5 on Monday morning.
The lorry, travelling north, hit the central reservation and knocked a lamp standard across three lanes southbound between junctions 16 and 17 (Cribbs). The motorway near Bristol was closed northbound, and traffic travelling south restricted to the hard shoulder, after the lorry jack-knifed.
Northbound traffic is being diverted via the M49 and police are warning drivers of long delays. The vehicle, travelling north, hit the central reservation and knocked a lamp standard across three lanes southbound between junctions 16 and 17.
