Report due on police fatal crash

Police Ombudsman Nuala O'Loan is to publish a report on the death of a man who was knocked down by a police Land Rover almost two years ago.

Jim McMenamin, 29, from west Belfast, died after he was struck on the Springfield Road.

He died at the scene in the early hours of 4 June 2005.

Mrs O'Loan immediately launched an inquiry, as her office is required to investigate any fatal traffic collision which involves police.
