Police are trying to negotiate with a man who is holding a protest after climbing onto the roof of council offices in Carmarthenshire. A pensioner has staged a 10 hour roof top protest at council offices in Carmarthenshire over a planning row.

A Carmarthenshire County Council spokesperson said they had notified the emergency services as soon as they became aware of the man on the roof. Some damage was caused to the roof, with slates broken off.
"Obviously the safety of the individual is the prime concern, that he is removed as quickly and as safely as possible," he said. Carmarthenshire County Council said it would seek to take "the strongest possible" action against Mr Jones.
In a statement, it added: "Mr Jones' grievance dates back many decades.
"This matter has been fully investigated at a number of levels and by a number of different organisations.
"The council has received no correspondence from Mr Jones regarding this issue for quite some time.
