    • I challenge any academic to come and work in a private company doing the hours we do and for the money we get and you go home when the job is finished not because it is 4pm!Get real people. Accept your current lot or push for that pay rise and then wait for the redundancy notice to arrive. People in the public sector have had their cake and eaten it for too long.

    • Good.Remember the debate about why no one wants to go into science as a career. This is the same pension as university research scientists get. Yet another downgrade in the benefits of science as a job. I for one support them.
