Prince Charles to meet Barack Obama in Washington | |

The Prince of Wales is due to meet US President Barack Obama in Washington on the second day of his official visit to the US. | |
He will also give the keynote speech at a conference on sustainable agriculture and attend an event to support British and American troops deployed overseas. | |
On Tuesday, Charles attended a Marshall Scholar alumni reception at the US Supreme Court. | |
He then visited a city farm on a former baseball field in a deprived area. | |
During his 35-minute visit to the Common Good City Farm, Prince Charles met staff and volunteers at the site where fruit, vegetables and flowers are grown. He also helped with a tree planting. | |
Washington mayor Vincent Gray, who was present to greet Charles, described him as a "visionary" on environmental issues. | |
His speech later will take place at the Future of Food conference at Georgetown University. | |
A Clarence House spokesman said the prince's two-day trip had three main themes - education, environmental sustainability and co-operation between UK and US forces. | |
